ОПИСАНИЕ ПРОГРАММЫ

The Master Program “Optical Engineering” is realized jointly by ITMO University and Changchun University of Science and Technology (China) and purposed for international students.

Mission of the Master Program is training of competitive graduates in the area of optical engineering including development of telescope, microscope, photo, projection, illumination systems; development of optical and optoelectronic devices; videomatics; computer modeling of optical systems, CAD technologies, optical image modeling, processing and reconstruction. Features of the Program conclude in deep knowledge of optical engineering principles and skills in development of actual and innovative optical systems using modern special software and modern laboratory equipment. Learning outcomes of graduates provide successive professional and research activities. 

ДИСЦИПЛИНЫ

Instrumental optics (Research project)

Course is devoted mainly to research project in the field of development and investigation of optical devices of different types, including rules and methods of design, material selection, ergonomics, safety requirements, cost efficiency, market analysis etc. Fundamentals and methods of research activities are observed in the course.

Image processing

Course “Image processing” covers wide range of issues, related to main methods of image processing for visual improvement. The course includes study of main color models and their mutual conversions, methods of element wise image processing, including methods of preparation. The main emphasis is on methods of image improvement and recovery using different kinds of filtering

Optical manufacturing (Research project)

Course is devoted mainly to research project in the field of optical manufacturing including tolerance analysis, design and technological requirements, methods of testing and performance monitoring, quality requirements for optical elements and devices. Fundamentals and methods of research activities are observed in the course.
